Special Needs (2006)

Special Needs is a comedy about a TV presenter and his sidekicks are trying to make there name heard by creating a reality TV show which features physically and mentally disabled contestants.

This film is definitely worth watching and I would give it a 6/10.

Murderball (2005)

Murderball

This is a moving documentary about a team of young men all mostly containing spinal disabilities and documents their emotions throughout the build-up and during the Paralympics in Athens in which they all play full contact rugby for the USA. They share with us there experiences of being disabled but prove that disabled people are more than capable than others that may have mocked them in the past.

Personally I would give this film a 7.5/10

Cinemas for the Deaf and blind

An arizona law suit may be forcing Harkins Theatres to equip their cinemas with the necessary equipment for deaf and blind people.  They agreed to install descriptive video systems in almost all of their theatres by January 2013.  Only two of their theatres will be exempt from this.

Apparently, by not already having this equipment installed they were commiting illegal discrimination.  The company is not admitting that they are guilty, but rather than continue to go through a long legal process they would much rather just add the equipment.

As a result, Harkins has made an agreement to do promotional events at theaters when the equipment is installed and will provide up to 1,000 free admissions to individuals who are disabled.
