NOTES B/W

Diminishing entertainment despite the pairing of Ryan and

Lupino.

Ryan plays a man who may have learning difficulties who

works as an odd-job man and 'finds' the body of a dead

woman in the closet. He runs away and next we see him

seeking work at Lupino's house.

Taken on by her he acts erratically so we are meant to

wonder if he killed the woman in the closet and will he do it

again. One moment he elicits her sympathy when he tells her

he forgets where he lives, the next she is worried when he

locks her in her own house.

From the story and play "The Man" by Mel Dinelli (also wrote

screenplay)
