NOTES |
An ex-boxer
escapes from an institution. It is unclear why he |

was there
but we gradually learn he is quick to lose his |
|
temper and
subsequent fights have led to his being locked up |
|
many times.
Though first seen as a loser by her he is picked |
|
up by a
barmaid. She takes him home and through her he |
|
meets Uncle
Bud who has a kidnap scheme which will set |
|
The emphasis
is on characterisation rather than plot and the |
|
film is well
acted. But the progress is slow,,. Bruce Dern |
|
as Uncle Bud
projects another kind of 'mental deviance'. |
|
The film has
been described as a film noir in Technicolor. For |
|
me the film
doesn't involve one enough to want to delve into |
|
