NOTES |
Samuel L.
Jackson plays Romulus who lives in a cave in Central Park, New York.
Romulus is a schizophrenic who once studied piano. He has dreadlocks
down to his waist. Romulus' daughter is a policewoman and generally
disowns him. When the frozen body of a young man is found outside
his cave Romulus takes on the role of detective. Because though the
police believe there are no suspicious circumstances Romulus thinks
he knows better.
Apparently the change from schizophrenic, homeless person to
putative detective is missing any plausible motivation. And more
implausible is the way a young, well-off couple take Romulus into
their home. The mystery element is apparently un-engaging and it is
left to what is said to be a solid performance from Jackson to hold
the attention. |
