NOTES |
This is a
clever film for those in the know. The story is from |
|
"Double
Indemnity". The style also with borrowings from other |
|
Turner is
very much the hussy housewife prototyped by |
|
Barbara
Stanwyck who wants her husband killed. William |
|
Hurt is more
lackadaisical playing the lawyer that Fred |
|
McMurray
insurance salesman. But he's also gullible and a |
|
sucker for
Turner's charms. A fair bit of the noir touches are |
|
turned on
their head, especially the film's ending. |
|
The
technical man involved in a robbery is in a wheelchair. |
