Ringer, The (2005)
About the Special Olympics and a man who fakes a
mental disability to enter. Apparently the treatment is in bad taste
like The Farrelly Brothers films but read the reviews especially the
comments at IMDB by the Head of the Delegation for the Special Olympic
Texas Team. And it appears that the only romance is between two
non-disabled people.

Thanks to Connie for this suggestion who comments:
"The Ringer is out in theaters right now, and I saw it last night. It
stars Johnny Knoxville as a man in need of money, so he fakes having a
developmental disability and is going to "fix" the Special Olympics to
win bet money. The really cool thing about this movie is that it stars
mainly people with developmental disabilities, and shows them as people.
It has a lot of laughs, and isn't sappy. It does, however, show how
people tend to treat people with mental retardation, etc., and how they
put up with it..."
