NOTES Adventure set in WWII from a novel by Jack Higgins and very much in that mould. A group of German paratroopers land in a small English village in a plot to kidnap Winston Churchill. The Germans are led by Michael Caine and Robert Duvall and aided by an Irish IRA man played with an awful accent by Donald Sutherland. Duvall's character has a patch over one eye and a glove on (only) his left hand. I think these characteristics are to explain more why he isn't at the East front rather than make him look villainous. Caine plays a good German who was in the process of being court-martialled for helping Jews.
Not so good as the cast and director would have you anticipate.
