NOTES What this film has going for it is the exquisite Leslie Caron

and the erudite George Bernard Shaw, not to mention Alastair Sim.

I've read most of GBS including his early novels but so long

ago I can't remember much of the play this film was based

on. If you haven't heard of GBS which is quite likely these

days he wrote Pymalion on which My Fair Lady is based.

Here Caron is married to a ne'er-do-well who has tuberculosis and she has problems trying to get medical consultants to consider treating him.

Shaw couldn't write anything which wasn't philosophically

challenging and this is really about ethics and human values.
