NOTES |
Eddie Murphy
is a talented guy, he's also very likeable but he still needs
a script. As the young Dolittle he finds he can talk to his dog
but this drives his parents up the wall and they get rid of the
dog. |
|
Dolitte
re-appears years later as a doctor. He's a real doctor |
|
whose
credentials are established by a patient who has an |
|
allergy to
shellfish. He advices her that she will still have a |
|
reaction to
the shellfish even if she takes them out of the shell. |
|
There's
an evener stronger reaction in Dolittle when he hits a dog with
his car. The dog gets up but has a little pinch of road rage
and tells Dolittle to look where he's going. So big Dolittle is
back talking to the animals. And that's basically the rest of the
film. Remember the original Doctor Dolittle was a musical and
that didn't fare too well. That started at 152 minutes and
was cut to 144. This version doesn't even last the 82
minutes it is billed at. Clearly the film makers saw well before the
audience did that this was a turkey. |
