NOTES |
Ladd returns
from the war to find his wife is seeing someone |

else. Then
she is murdered and he becomes the suspect. |
|
Ladd begins
investigating to prove his innocence. Along the |
|
line he
takes up with Lake who is married to a night club |
|
owner.
Bendix was in the navy air arm with Ladd but is |
|
cracking up
after his wartime experiences. His is a |
|
reasonably
good performance but it is Lake and Chandler's |
|
script that
make the film interesting. Has become something |
|
of a minor
classic a description it can just about sustain. |
