Bigger than Life (1956) |

DISABILITY |
General
Arthritis |

NOTES |
A rather odd
film though it derives from an actual case. |
|
A
schoolteacher has had chronic pain and blackouts. In |
|
hospital he
is diagnosed as having a serious inflammation of |
|
the arteries
which could kill him in a very short time. He is |
|
offered a
treatment which might save him but it is in its |
|
experimental
stage. This involves taking cortisone tablets for |
|
the rest of
his life. He does recover but starts to take more of |
|
the drugs
than he should and the side effect creates violent |
|
changes of
mood that threaten to destroy his family life. |
