TITLE |
As
Good As It Gets (1997) |
|
DISABILITY |
General
Asthma, Obsessive Compulsion Disorder |
|
NOTES |
Nicholson
plays a romantic novelist with obsessive |
|
compulsion
disorder. That's where you carry out |
|
meaningless
repetitive actions and much hand scrubbing. |
|
He's also
very rude to everyone, especially women. The only |
|
person who
tolerates him is a waitress (Helen Hunt) who has |
|
a son with
chronic asthma. He is redeemed and they fall in |
|
love and his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder moves to the back burner, as it were, showing this is a romantic drama. |
|
Hunt has
long been underrated and here she shows what she |
|
can do. (She
and Nicholson won Oscars). |
