The story
concerns the rich and ruthless Daniel Quilp who |

might be
described as a property developer and his |

harrassment
of a shopkeeper and his grand-daughter. |
|
Quilp is
described by Dickens as the dwarf and is |
|
hunchbacked
(" I'm a little hunchy villain. . ") but in modern |
|
versions as
far as I know he has not been played by a dwarf |
|
Nell's
grand-father is mentally infirm and uses a stick. And of |
|
course
Little Nell has one of the most famous death scenes in literature. |
