Dwarf Minor

TITLE |
Meet
John Doe (1941) |
Stanwyck
gets the sack from her newspaper and in a last |
dash of the
typewriter 'pens' a letter to the paper purporting to |
be from a
man of the streets. |
The letter
provokes so much interest the paper is desperate |
to find the
man. Of course he doesn't exist so they bring in a |
bevy of
tramps. Cooper plays the tramp who is chosen. |
Naturally
with Capra at the helm events get out of hand and in |
this case
become quite gloomy. |
For me
Cooper hasn't the range to fill his character. But |
Stanwyck is
on good form. |
Billy Curtis
and Johnny Fern play dwarfs. |
