NOTES Astoria who has had his face cut so that he is always smiling

has a mask over his face. The beautiful woman he is in love

with is blind She says "Nothing is obvious to eyes that have

no light."  Though to our eyes she is not obviously blind.

As they approach the city of the Borgias they meet a group of

lepers pulling a cart.

Angelo very improbably has an operation so he ends up

looking like Astoria.

It is an odd, unlikely story which must go down better in the

book by Victor Hugo.

One of travelling troupe is a dwarf, Archimedes.

Note this film is dubbed into English.
