This is a
sort of re-make of Rio Bravo (1959) which doesn't |

achieve that
film's class stature. |

Wayne and
Caan come to the rescue of the alcoholic sheriff |

(Mitchum) as
he faces the usual baddies. For a Western this |
|
film was
filmed very much inside (i..e. in a studio). |
|
Wayne has a
bullet in his back which sometimes paralyses |
|
Mitchum
plays a comic book drunk not unlike Dean Martin in |
|
One of the
baddies has a long scar down his face. |
|
The first
two disabilities are there more to enhance character |
|
than portray
disability and the last is your typical 'villain's scar'. |
