Set in the
17th century this is a good adventure story. When |

Lagardere is
hired by the Count Gonzague to murder the |

Duke of
Nevers. Instead he warns the Duke and they ride off. |

But the
Count's men catch up with them and there is a |

massacre.
Lagardere survives saving a baby who he raises |
|
as his
daughter though she knows he isn't her father. |
|
There are
complications in their relationship in true French |
|
style. Later
Lagardere disguises himself as a hunchback so |
|
he can work
for the Count to replace the hunchback |
|
accountant
who has been killed. Hunchbacks are seen as |

a feast of photography, location and acting |
