TITLE |

Beach Story, The (1942) |

DISABILITY |
Deaf VERY
Minor |
|
Totally
wonderful, crazy comedy with never a dull moment. |
|
Great acting
all round (Sturges used a repertory of players). |
|
McCrea and
Colbert are great, and Rudy Vallee is a |
|
revelation.
Colbert, the wife, thinks her husband, McCrea, |
|
would do
better without her and runs away to marry someone |
|
rich who
will give money to her ex-husband to finance his |
|
invention.
Early on we meet the rich Wienie King whose |
|
deafness is
used to comic effect without I hope offending |
