This is an
enjoyable mystery in film noir style. A film with very |
good, sharp
(Chandler style) dialogue included here because |
one of the
characters is deaf and speaking impaired. He is a |
young man
who works for Mitchum in his garage. He is able |
to lip read
and communicates with Mitchum through sign |
language.
However though other characters are alert to his |
condition he
is simply there as a disabled person functioning |
perfectly
well and not used as a plot device. |
From novel
by Geoffrey Homes (Daniel Mainwaring) Build My |
Remade as
"Against All Odds" in 1984 but I don't know if the |
deaf and
speaking impaired character is included. |
