NOTES |
Set in the
sixties Dreyfuss is a Jewish private eye who used |

to be a
Berkeley (University of California) radical. He gets |
|
the job of
finding out who is trying to slur a liberal candidate for the
Californian governorship. |
|
Dreyfuss
plays the private eye as witty and laid-back. And in |
|
a scene with
the printer of some scurrilous flyers he uses the |
|
printer's
hearing impairment for a bit of witty banter. |
|
Perhaps
because of Dreyfuss's approach to his character we |
|
don't really
get involved in the increasingly complicated plot. |
