NOTES A man who wants to be a composer takes a job as a music

teacher thinking it will be temporary. But over 30 years he is

devoted to his teaching work yet still ambitious to compose.

Unfortunately his son is deaf and won't be able to hear his

'Opus'. The problem with this film is that the deafness of the

son is not much more than an 'idea'. The son is seen too little

and is merely a counter point to the teacher's ambition.

Despite this and the sentimentality of the final act there much

worth watching.

Anthony Natale, playing the son is a

deaf actor.
