NOTES |
After seeing
that his older brother might be involved in the |
|
death of a
friend a boy, Stephen, is told to keep quiet. Later |
|
he gets a
sore throat and has his tonsils out. From this point |
|
he refuses
to talk and wants to learn sign language. His |
|
mother
unsuccessfully tries hypnosis. Following a fire in their |
|
stables
Stephen is taken to an institute for disturbed children. |
|
Of course he
rebels but a specialist gets him to say one word. |
|
His mother
has a bleeding ulcer and is seriously ill. His |
|
brother
continues to put pressure on him to remain quiet. His |
|
best friend
at the institute tries to kill herself and his |
|
grandmother
dies. However mum comes home well and it |
|
turns out
that it was the sheriff who was responsible for the |
|
boy's death.
He is charged with 2nd degree murder. Stephen |
|
starts
talking again and goes on to teach the deaf. |
