A deaf, speaking impaired woman (Wyman) lives in a

provincial town in Nova Scotia where fishing and farming are

the main activities. She is raped and the local doctor who has

befriended her and taught her sign language is suspected of

being the father of the baby she bears.

Strong melodrama with A.A. winning performance from

Wyman.



Apparently there were teleplays of this film in 1955 and 1958.
