Deaf Major

TITLE |
Four
Weddings and a Funeral (1994) |
|
and a superb
supporting cast.

|
NOTES |
This is a
wonderful film in which everyone plays their part to |
|
perfection.
Included here because of the deaf character, |
|
Charles'
brother, played by David Bower. This character is |
|
seamlessly
integrated into the plot and brings about the |
|
ultimate
'reversal' at the end. Bower is a deaf actor who uses |
|
only signing
in the film to wonderful effect; especially the |
|
scene where
his girlfriend who is learning signing is given |
|
subtitles.
Bower can in reality like many/most deaf people but choose not to. |
