NOTES |
Everyday
story of fishing folk living an idyllic life though business could
be better. It is life as conceived by Disney Corp. Of course there
is a snake in the grass but it is as certain as James Bond's
immortality there will be a happy ending.
A young mother has a 5 year old daughter who is deaf. The girl
deafness results from Rubella (German measles) and the mother blames
herself.
The girl goes to a speech therapist because her mother doesn't want
her to learn signing. But when she goes to the hospital she
discovers the therapist has been teaching her signing. The mother
says that this "will set her outside." (of the hearing community).
Their son is thinking of killing himself. The husband is lost at sea
but found in a life raft. And their marriage which had been on the
rocks is strengthened. The daughter is presumably O.K. but we're not
shown.
