NOTES |
Rob Lowe plays taxi
driver with theatrical pretensions. He's offered money to kill a
drugs lord. He turns the offer down but later he has a lot of pain
and passes out. Then he discovers he has a malignant inoperable
cancer with only a 2% survival rate though he has up to a year
before he pops his clogs (the Doc at this point doesn't say what
kind of therapy). He's given tablets for the pain but turns down
chemotherapy. This exposition is all dealt with perfunctorily.
So as you would expect he agrees to do the assassination. Then (of
course) he is told he doesn't have pancreatic cancer or any other
cancer (one review says he has prostrate cancer but I think I'm
right). But he does have arsenic in his liver. It turns out that he
is the victim of a con by the guy who wants him to kill someone.
