will have heard of Eva Peron, the charismatic |

attractive first lady of Argentina in the 1940s. |

The story is
good but the treatment dire. This film really is for |
|
aficionados
of Madonna or Lloyd Webber, certainly not of Alan Parker.
Remember Bugsy Malone, Fame, Pink Floyd-The Wall, The
Commitments, that was Parker too. |
|
Despite
being a feast for the eyes it's scraps for the ears and |
|
mind. I just
wasn't engaged enough to watch it to the end. In |
|
the cinema
I'd have walked out, on video I rewound. |
|
Eva Peron
died aged 33 of cancer. |
