NOTES 'Love Story' among the hippies. The young mother is dying of a malignant tumour, her husband can't cope with this and has an affair with a neighbour. A script with some depth is spoiled by the sentimental aura cast on the mother.

The film is told in flashbacks after the scattering of her ashes

and is set in the hippy 60s.

A young mother has a tumour on a bone in her leg which is

malignant. Doctor wants to amputate her leg but she won't

allow it. They suggest chemotherapy but she won't take her

drugs. She is given10-20% chance to live for 5 years.

Later the cancer spreads to her lung. Her husband gets a job

but he's having an affair with the upstairs neighbour. Before

she dies she goes on TV.

Supposedly there is a sequel called 'Sunshine Christmas'

presumably without the mother who died.

There are some wonderful comments about the film at IMDB:

including "The more I saw it, the more I cried, until I had to

stop seeing it!" "This movie can move you."
