Cancer Major

DISABILITY |
Cancer
Terminal |
NOTES |
You have two
children. You have their mother and you have |
their
stepmother. Both moms are ready to tear out each |
other's
eyes. But the grim reaper has the edge. Because |
mom has
cancer and it's terminal. Unfortunately it takes |
around 2
hours for the scythe to descend. And a bit less than |
that for the
two moms to patch up their differences, ostensibly |
for the sake
of the children but really to keep the script |
moving and
have a happy ending i.e. only one death. |
In the real
world family members frequently don't speak to or |
even see
each other for practically whole lifetimes. In the film |
world they
have 90 to 120 minutes to get themselves sorted |
and emerge
as better people. |
We don't see
mom die, nor even look ill. And I thought death |
bed scenes
were what actors craved. |
This is a
variation on a wife dying with her finding a substitute |
for husband
and children. In this case the substitute arrives |
unannounced
and mum hates her. |
