arrogant surgeon (William Hurt, typecast again in a caring
role??) learns he has throat cancer. The shoe on the other foot
he discovers what it's like to be a patient in his own hospital. |

performances, especially Hurt, Lahti and Perkins (a |

fellow
patient). From the director of 'Children of a Lesser |

Follows the
process with attention to detail; the waiting |
|
involved,
the small print of hospital insurance, the cold- |
|
shoulder
approach from some staff. |
|
The
spiritual healing is handled by his relationship (platonic)
|
|
with Perkins
who is dying from a brain tumour. Not only is |
|
Hurt cured
but he becomes a better person, even his |
|
Slightly
goody- goody but well worth seeing. |
