Within the
first minute I guessed this was going to be the |

turkey I'd
heard it was. No prizes there then. The original |
|
British TV
series was formulaic but had a certain appeal |
|
which made
it popular. The female side of the dynamic duo, |
|
Emma Peel,
was played by at least two actors. |
|
In my
opinion you couldn't choose less appealing actors for |
|
the roles of
Steed and Peel. And the over-the-top approach |
|
Their boss
is played by Jim Broadbent sitting in a wheelchair |
|
and his
second in command is blind. There appears to be no |
|
reason for
this other than novelty value. I never saw the TV |
|
series so I
don't know if these characters are disabled there. |
