NOTES |
Albert
Sanchez writes: |
|
"There is a
strange, surrealistic and hilarious sequence in
Fellini's Amarcord', his reminiscences of his Italian boyhood. The
family goes on a picnic with their loony uncle whom they have just
picked up from the sanatorium. During the lunch, he climbs up to the
top of a tree and begins shouting (in Italian, of course), "I want a
woman!" No one can convince him to come down; he remains up there for
a whole day, until finally a hunchback nun is recruited, climbs up the
tree, and says to him quietly, "Enough of this foolishness", after
which the uncle comes down and is quietly led back by some attendants
in white coats."

There is
also a blind man listed in the cast credits but it's so |
|
long since I
saw the film I don't remember the detail. It is |
|
certainly a
patchwork quilt of a film. |
