Detective
Andy Garcia investigates killing of blind women, falls in love with
blind witness. |

Reasonably
entertaining thriller, fairly formulaic, with one of |
|
today's best
actors, Garcia, adding to the enjoyment. Uma |
|
Thurman who
may also be a good actor makes being blind |
|
look
miserable but also gives her character an occasional |
|
sense of
mystery and attractiveness. Thurman is set to be |
|
the eighth
victim hence Garcia's interest. After a few twists to |
|
the plot the
killer is found to be a cop who went to a school for |
|
blind girls
and had a rough time. (I don't remember why). |
|
In the end
though we have to conclude that being blind is |
|
simply there
for plot purposes. Thurman's character lost her |
|
sight in a
car accident which killed the rest of her family. |
|
Though she
shows no signs of any damage around her eyes. |
|
The killer
has asthma which is used as a clue to his identity. |
|
