Arthur Kennedy does a superlative job of portraying Larry
Nevins a recently blinded soldier. The story is a drama of how a soldier blinded in World War II, and rehabilitated at the veteran's hospital adjusts to life and blindness back in the United States. Many of the actual events of the story are based on events that did happen to blinded soldiers. It might also be fun while watching this 1951 drama to note several now well known actors in the cast at the beginnings of their career. These include Rock Hudson, Jerry Paris, Hugh Reilly, Richard Egan and Will Geer and Julie Adams.
