NOTES A mother (Sophia Loren) seeks financial help from her ex-lovers to pay for an operation to help her son who has been blind since he was 2 years old. The son (played by Loren's own son) is now 12. His performance consists of staring ahead, running up to men and shouting daddy and falling over things, as tutored to do by his mother. He does use a Braille watch but is generally portrayed as being helpless.
They travel around Italy in a caravan seeking out the ex-lovers who don't appear to remember her.
The story is told in a dull, slow fashion and overall it is a silly, fanciful film. And happily the boy has his op, can see again and the mother even finds love with one of the men who, guess, is the real father.
