NOTES |
Quite brutal
but off-beat crime story. Baldwin is good as a |

psychopathic
murderer and thief. Jason Leigh plays a rather |
|
dippy young
woman who joins up with him unaware of his |
|
homicidal
tendencies. Then Fred Ward appears as a |
|
hackneyed
cop who has his badge stolen by Baldwin. This |
|
badge allows
Baldwin to pretend to be an undercover cop. |
|
Not wholly
successful but well worth watching. The tone has |
|
to be
off-centre with a touch of black comedy otherwise we'd |
|
immediately
lose any empathy with Baldwin's character. |
|
There's a
blind black guy who is a stool pigeon for the cop. |
|
And a robber
in store is lame. The robber even loses some |
|
of his
fingers and his dad sues the state. |
