NOTES |
A true tale
of two Americans passing secrets to the Russians. |
Near the
beginning Penn's character does a drug deal in |
Mexico with
a guy who is a above knee amputee. He hides |
the drugs in
his prosthetic leg and gets through U.S. customs |
with no
hassle from a customs officer who is a fellow Vietnam |
Parts of the
film are interesting but the script is generally a |
mess leaving
one unclear what the spying is about. And |
concentrates
on the moral dilemmas of Boyce. It's also a pity |
to see Penn
going over the top in some scenes. |
As I
remember it the book of this true story is much more |
