If you're a
masochist you might enjoy the beautiful ….. Being |

cut down to
size. Or if you are a Limb amputee devotee. Or |
|
into very
soft porn. Should be a comedy but isn't. An |
|
uncomfortable film to watch. Julian Sands is a surgeon who
|
|
becomes
obsessed with a woman. When she runs away |
|
from him she
is hit by a car and he amputates her legs. Kept |
|
captive in
his house she throws things at him so he |
|
amputates
her arms. Helena, the woman, is clearly named |
|
after Helene
of Troy who launched a thousand ships and there are pointed
shots of Venus di Milo, the armless sculpture. |
|
Fenn is
never going to be a great actor but Sands can do |
|
better. This
is Lynch's (daughter of David (Twin Peaks) |
|
Lynch) first
film we hope she can do better too. |
