Fahey plays
a criminal psychologist who loses his right arm in a traffic
accident. As one reviewer points out he should have been wearing
a seatbelt. |

But he gets
a new arm grafted on. And surprise, surprise the |
|
new arm
comes from a criminal. And because Fahey's |
|
character
works in prisons we learn that a tattoo on his wrist |
|
(stinker)
means the arm came from someone on death row. |
|
What reveals
the level of the film's plausibility is that Fahey |
|
hadn't
noticed the tattoo until a prisoner points it out. |
|
When he
discovers the donor was a serial killer this works on |
|
his
imagination and he says he has a murderer's blood in his |
|
system ( a
piece of nonsense which isn't true in a medical |
|
Brad Dourif
once again plays a deranged individual who has |
|
got the left
arm. And as a result has become a successful |
|
artist.
Though the guy who got the legs loses control on |
|
The surgeon
responsible for the transplants turns out to be |
|
another mad
scientist (shamefully played by the excellent |
|
Lindsay
Duncan). There is an absurd scene in her laboratory |
|
which
features a 'living' torso. |
