Lon Chaney plays the "Armless wonder" (Alonzo the Armless) a freak show act though he is a fake. Then he falls in love with a girl whose father he has murdered. Because he has two thumbs on one hand he would be immediately know to her. So has his arms amputated. But she loves the circus strongman and he plots to sabotage the strongman's act. This involves holding back two 'galloping' horses. The horses are in fact on a treadmill which Alonzo stops and the man's arms are wrenched off.
Interesting if only for its attitude to the 'freaks'.
In some shots Chaney has an arm amputee standing-in for him.
