NOTES Nearly everyone says this is a hugely enjoyable, uplifting film.

A man with an I.Q…. Of 75 overcomes his disability and

even wins the Congressional Medal of Honor. Go on, tell me

it's based on a true story. I simply couldn't take to this film. I

couldn't empathise with the main character. But it is one of

the highest grossing films ever.

As a boy Gump wears braces and has a crooked spine.

Gump travels through historical moments of his lifetime. This

includes a spell in the army for which he would never have

been eligible.

There is also a double leg amputee created with special

effects.
