Thomas
(Martin Donovan) regains consciousness to find |

himself
badly injured and not knowing who he is. He goes into |
|
a café where
a woman, Isabelle, (Isabelle Huppert) offers to |
|
take him
back to her flat. She was once a nun but now |
|
fancies
being a nymphomaniac and meanwhile writes |
|
Slowly
Thomas's past emerges and it is revealed that he was |
|
a
pornographer of a particularly extreme type. And his injuries |
|
are the
result of his wife who is the star of his films trying to |
|
kill him. To
make matters worse there are gunmen after him. |
