NOTES A New York based photographer desperate for work is sent on an assignment to Boston. Once there she finds she's been set-up by her agent in an attempt to re-unite her with her estranged brother who is dying with AIDS.
Kiefer Sutherland plays the brother, Roy, as evidently gay though secretive about some things, like his partner not leaving him but dying from AIDS. Most of the film is taken up with the brother and sister examining their upbringing with a violent father who was acquitted of murdering their mother.
In the latter stages of the film close to death Roy is on a regime of pills, an I.V. drip and needs a visiting nurse.
The acting is reasonably good but the flashbacks explaining the family history become a painful intrusion.
